Our Collegiate Dancers
Shawndrielle Murphy is a former Southern Queen from a small town known as Centreville, Mississippi, located in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. During the summer of 2022, she became the leader and served as captain from 2022 to 2023. While doing an amazing job as captain, she managed to maintain a high GPA, represent her senior class as Miss Senior, lead the team to many victories, and serve as captain of her high school cheerleading squad. After graduating from Wilkinson County High School in 2023, she then furthered her dance career by dancing amongst the Alcorn State University Golden Girls. She is now a sophomore at Alcorn State and is currently preparing for her second year of dancing with the Golden Girls.
Fun Fact
Shawndrielle joined our dance company when she was in 5th grade and remained a loyal member from 5th grade to her senior year.
Shawndrielle is the first Southern Queen to perform with an auxiliary in front of a marching band known as the Sounds of Dyn-O-Mite, the first dancer from her hometown to dance with the Alcorn State University Golden Girls, and the second HBCU dancer from our company.
Samoia Toy is a former Southern Queen from a small town known as Centreville, Mississippi, located in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. Samoia joined our dance company during her junior year of high school and was later elevated to the captain position by her senior year. She did an outstanding job as captain, which shed more light on our team and opened many doors for her dance career. During her senior year in high school, not only did she serve as captain for our company, she was also the captain of her color guard team in high school, served as homecoming queen “Miss WCHS," and became a member of the “Smashtime Allstar team while maintaining a high GPA. Samoia then graduated high school and attended Jackson State University, where she became a JSU Dazzler. In addition to her dance career, she began to take heel classes during her sophomore year at JSU and appeared as a background dancer for growing artists. In May 2024, Samoia auditioned for the Mississippi Alumni All-Star Band “The Maab Squad” and is currently performing as a Maab dancer.
Fun Fact
Samoia is the first dancer from our company to join a HBCU Team (JSU Dazzlers).
Samoia won two tickets to Beyonce’s Renaissance concert after performing so well at a JSU Event.
